After a late night of watching horror movies, and having deal with a service man from the phone company who was out to fix a problem with the line that's been going on for months, I got a late start on the first day of NaNoWriMo. Didn't get as much writing time in as I'd hoped, but did manage to get down 1,042 words.
For those of you participating in NaNoWriMo this year, how'd your first day go?
Feel free to add me to your buddy list http://nanowrimo.org/participants/r2drivenimpala.

Good luck to everyone participating in NaNoWriMo this year! I'm off to start my book. Happy writing!

NaNoWriMo Update
Didn't get a chance to work on my outline Wednesday because of a fire that ravaged the back side of my property. Got a detailed outline of the first two chapters done today, though, so at least that's something. I'd hoped to have the whole thing finished today and ready for the start of NaNoWriMo on Friday, but alas, such is my luck that I didn't get it done. Whelp, off to watch a Nightmare On Elm Street marathon.

I
haven't had much time to keep up with this blog for awhile. I've been
busy working on getting the shooting script finalized for a film I'm
directing (follow that here: I
Love You Because Facebook Group Page to
keep track of all the exciting goings on with that project) and doing
some film work for friends so haven't really had much time to update
the blog. And I mostly access the internet on my phone now; and it's
keyboard is way too small to do much typing. Got some more writing
projects to start on and will hopefully be able to update this blog
more often.
In the mean time, kindly check out my YA novel Tony's Doll, available on Kindle; or, for those purists among you, it's also available as a good oldfashioned book.

Finally back to a daily writing schedule! Once the play I directed was over, I had a few false starts, getting back into the swing of things and finding my way back in to the projects I was working on. I've written every day this week and completed two chapters in a novel I'm working on, worked out some structural details for a screenplay, and even have time to write this post.
Gonna do my Insanity work out for the day; then organize my office (it needs it), then hopefully catch up on last night's episode of Supernatural which I missed because my brother and I were filming a scene for a contest. Once the video is done, I'll post a link. In case you don't know, my brother and I make films, you can check out our work on Facebook or our website DaJa Vu Films.
Oh, and does anyone know of a good Kindle template? I've tried looking, but haven't really found one. I want to convert my YA novel Tony's Doll to Kindle and don't have Mircosoft Word, and the formatting instructions don't work very well for OpenOffice. Anyone who can help, I'll send you a free Kindle copy of the novel when it's set up.
I think that's everything. What have all of you been up to?

Back From Theatre Hiatus
I’ve been massively busy directing a play since December so haven’t
had time to keep this updated or even read any of the blogs I follow.
Play closed last weekend, though, and I’m finally getting time back for
me, as well as getting back to working on my own writing projects. The
owner of the theater company is already asking me to direct several
shows for next season, so I take it my show was a success. It was the
first show of the first season, so the pressure was on.
My next project will be I Love You Because, which is a film I wrote based on a play that a friend of mine wrote. I’m currently trying to raise funds to pay and feed the actors. My brother (who is my producing partner) have spent all of our money purchasing equipment so need a little help. So please, check out the link
I Love You Because
And if you can’t contribute monetarily, please comment, like and share the page, which will help us get more exposure on the IndieGoGo website. Every little bit helps.

Had a breakthrough on a short story I've been working on for a while. It's part of a series based on my experiences from a few years ago when my father was in the hospital and on life support and all of the doctors were demanding we take him off, yet we refused and he is alive today because we fought to keep him that way. So it's not something easy for me to write about and I've been struggling for months to find my opening into the story. Found it today after many false starts.

Well Hello There, My It's Been A Long Time
Yes, it has been awhile, my faithful readers, but it has been time well spent. Since September I've been working on writing promotional videos for a film I wrote in order to get it made, and busy with my day job as an improv performer. And on top of that, I am currently directing the play Crimes of the Heart, which opens in February, so haven't had much time to write anything else as of late, but hope to remedy that soon, and update the blog more often.
